Community Volunteers Elected to Lead Environmental Group

PORTLAND—At its annual meeting of members on October 21st, 2007, Friends of
Casco Bay elected a new slate of officers for 2007-2008. Malcolm Poole of Scarborough
will serve as President of the Board of Directors of the environmental organization. He is
President of WH Shurtleff Company, one of Maine’s oldest distributors of environmental
systems to control stormwater pollution and sediment runoff.

Also elected as Officers were:
Vice President: Cumberland resident Judith Fletcher Woodbury, a partner with Pierce
Atwood, LLP;
Clerk: Bradford Bowman of Yarmouth, an attorney with Thompson, Bull, Furey, Bass &
MacColl, LLC, PA;
Treasurer: Peter A. Dufour of Portland, Senior Manager with Macdonald Page & Co.,
After the annual meeting and recognition of volunteers, the group welcomed guest
speaker Terry Tamminen, who advises world leaders and state governors on combating
global climate change. Since 1989, Friends of Casco Bay has been working to improve
and protect the environmental health of Casco Bay through advocacy, education,
collaborative partnerships, water quality monitoring, and other scientific research. FMI,
