July 1: Freshwater Finds: Exploring the Presumpscot with Water Reporter

event graphic with waterfalls

Join Friends of Casco Bay and Friends of the Presumpscot River on Tuesday, July 1, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for a walk, a brew, and a deep dive into what makes a river healthy—and why that matters for Casco Bay.

We’ll meet at Mast Landing Brewing Company in Westbrook for check-in and introductions before heading out on a short walk to Saccarappa Falls on the Presumpscot River. Along the way, you’ll learn from a river expert and the President of Friends of the Presumpscot River about the health of this vital waterway.

After the walk, we’ll head back to Mast Landing for a free beer (or nonalcoholic beverage!) and some good conversation. You’ll get a chance to learn more about Water Reporter, a community science program that connects everyday observers like you to the health of our waters—from inland rivers and lakes to Casco Bay itself.

Whether you’re already a Water Reporter or just curious about the river in your backyard, this event is for you. All are welcome!
